The LeMay Story
Harold LeMay realized early on that "there would always be garbage". From a small family business, he built an empire that would eventually serve 125,000 customers. The LeMay holdings came to include refuse and recycling companies, two major landfills, and a towing outfit (among others). Harold LeMay also held an enormous passion for automobiles and, along with his wife Nancy, amassed a collection that numbered in excess of 3,000 vehicles and thousands of artifacts.

This astounding collection spans the entire 20th Century, and tells the tale of America's love affair with the automobile. It features virtually every American make, as well as numerous foreign cars. The LeMay Collection forms the core of America's Car Museum.
America's Car Museum
As stewards of a true national treasure, the Museum is dedicated to secure, interpret, and share the extensive LeMay Collection with the public. The new Museum will be a technologically advanced, interactive center that will showcase the cultural impact of cars, motorcycles and trucks on our uniquely American way of life.
Upon completion, this $100 million project will be the largest auto museum and attraction in the world, and will bring an estimated 500,000 visitors annually. It will truly be a gleaming beacon for the region.
