The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering

Every August, some of the rarest sports and race automobiles in the world gather on the golf course of The Quail Lodge in Carmel California. The event has fast become the most popular attraction during the Monterey Historic and Pebble Beach Concours weekend. It maintains an air of exclusivity, as only 3,000 tickets are available, and lucky attendees are not only treated to some amazing sheet metal, but also have the chance to sample gourmet food and wine, and even to test drive exclusive new cars.

In 2007, The Quail invited Griot's Garage to be the exclusive Car Care sponsor, and to award the Preservation Cup at the concours. The winner of the Griot's Garage Preservation Cup was an amazing 1937 Talbot Lago T 150 C SS Teardrop Coupe owned by J. Peter Ministrelli. This time-warp car has a wonderful past and given that it's never been restored, one can only imagine the adventures this car's been through in it's past. Congratulations Mr. Ministrelli and thank you for bringing this wonderful piece of pre-war history to the event.
Porsche Parade

Griot's Garage was invited once again by the Porsche Club of America to be the Car Care sponsor at their annual gathering in San Diego. The 52nd Porsche Parade drew over 2,000 attendees and hundreds of Porsches for a week of track events, rallies, tours and a concours.

Griot's Garage provided all the Car Care products for the wash corral, which operated from dawn well in to the night. Our Car Care specialists conducted hundreds of machine orbital demonstrations on owners' cars, and answered Car Care questions. The last night of the event, a banquet took place on the deck of an aircraft carrier and parked among the fighter jet planes was a RS Spyder from Team Penske.

This is truly a class event, and Griot's Garage is pleased to take part. Be sure to watch for us at the 2008 Parade, which will take place in Charlotte, North Carolina beginning June 28!
Kirkland Concours d'Elegance

The Kirkland Concours takes place every September on beautiful Carillon Point near Seattle. The event puts on display some of the world's rarest and most unique rolling (and floating) art, and to date has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Children's Hospital. Griot's Garage has proudly been the exclusive Car Care sponsor to the annual Kirkland Concours since it's first event over five years ago.

The caliber of automobiles at this concours was astounding. As in years past, Griot's Garage sponsored the Best of Show trophy, and we're thrilled to have awarded the 2007 cup to a spectacular 1937 Talbot Lago T-150-C-SS, Figoni Falasehi Teardrop coupe owned by the Nethercutt collection. With this year's event featuring "French Curves" as it's theme, the winning car was quite fitting.

We took great pleasure in meeting many of our Seattle area customers, one of whom even loaned us his vintage car for the day to use as a demonstration vehicle for our machine orbital system. Look for Griot's Garage again at this wonderful event on September 7, 2008!
BMW Oktoberfest

The BMW Club of America invited Griot's Garage to be the concours sponsor at its annual Oktoberfest event in Fort Worth Texas, September 30 - October 5. The event featured a week of tours, rallies, tech sessions, and a wonderful concours event showcasing hundreds of BMW's on the lawn at the famous Kimball Art Museum.

Griot's Garage provided a full supply of Car Care products at the event's car wash corral. In addition, a crew of our Car Care Specialists was on hand to answer owners' questions and provide demonstrations. One of our kind customers even loaned us her beloved Mini Cooper to be used as a demonstration vehicle.

The concours focused on cleanliness and attention to detail. Also, to encourage driving participation, concours entrants were awarded extra points for odometer mileage and for participation in driving events. The winner of the BMW Concours Griot's Garage Preservation trophy was Michael Washington with his spectacular 1988 E30 M3 BMW. Michael regularly drives his car and even used it during the week at the track. Congratulations Mike!
