A Stand-Out Speedster in Monterey

The Speedster 50th anniversary event was held in June this past summer in Monterey California. With over 1,650 attendees and over 600 cars it was most surely one of the largest Porsche gatherings ever. Everything from Speedsters, Sport Roadsters and Convertible D's helped make this event spectacular. More than 240 Speedsters got to lap at Mazda Laguna Seca race track and many drove the old 1950 circuit of the Pebble Beach race course on the Monterey Peninsula.

Griot's Garage was selected as a sponsor, and awarded the Preservation trophy to the best preserved, non-restored Speedster. The award went to Warren's beautiful, Meissen Blue 1958 Speedster, #84921, thought to be the last Speedster built. The car has only 32,200 miles on the odometer. It was admired by many of the attendees for its correctness and authenticity. Congratulations, Warren!
