Will this kit give me everything I need to detail my cars paint and remove typical car wash surface scratches?

i just bough the G9 orbital correct and protection kit. i see a lot of reviews saying the 5 in pad set up is better.is there a way to get it in 5 n rather then 6 in

The G9 random orbital only comes with the 6" backing plate. If you would like we have a 5" backing plate item 10555 you can get by itself, or the 5" conversion kit item 10515 which does include some pads.

Is this the best kit you would recommend for some paint defects and is it a complete kit start to finish? Waxing included.

If you have mild imperfections you are trying to get out, then Yes this is a great kit from start to finish getting those out. The only thing I might recommend is an extra set of pads, because when you have the pad on the Orbital it generates heat and friction. So if your using only one pad for almost the entire car it naturally start showing some wear. However if you use the one pad for a few panels and then switch it out for another and do a little more it can only help extend the life of your pads! They are washable and reusable.

I have never used clay at all and I'm wondering if you have any insight/direction on how it would work with the Phoniz area ultra hard water?

The clay works great, simply spray some speed shine on a dry area of the car and gently glide the clay over the paint in a cross hatch pattern. That will help to pull out any contaminates from your paint and ensure the surface is smooth.
