Iv used Stoners Trim Shine for years and decided to try this on my newly purchased 2012 Ford F150. The black trim seemed a bit worn. Not too bad but it wasn't to my liking. I applied this trim restorer as the instructions advised. It went on easy and dried fairly quickly. I noticed that after a few minutes of curing, the trim got more black and shiny as the minutes passed. It was cool to watch. The trim restorer is like Elmer's glue though. I noticed that if I took too long to apply an even coat on the trim, white glue like residue would begin to appear. I used a terry cloth to wipe it off and reapplied the trim restorer. Looks fantastic and the shine has lasted for several weeks now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Griots Product Ever! I have tried two other products to restore black plastic trim on my cars. This one WORKS! Our Subaru Outback has a big roof rack crossbars that were faded badly and this stuff made them look new again. No dripping or running down onto the paint. I highly recommend the applicator that comes with this because it allows you to get the edges like bottom molding trim. No other product I have tried works this good. A little product on the applicator goes a long way. Don't use too much product at first, just rub it in and then wipe with a microfiber and it sets on the trim amazingly and stays looking new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trim Restore, truly effective! I am usually pretty critical in reviews, but find only good to say about this product Trim Restorer. It seems to attack the whitish faded oxidation in plastic, leaving a nice new appearance. I have tried several products on my external trim, and ONLY this one works. This is not a cover up product. It actually seems to alter the plastic back to a much newer condition. This also works on rubber. I also used it on the tire sidewalls, and wow - it has a nice look and stays good for a long period of time! This is a perfect product, highly recommended!!

Is this product similar to Armour in that it will make things slippery? Want to use it on my Weathertech floor mats

We do not recommend putting any kind of dressing to your floor mats as they will make the surface slippery. The only thing we recommend is to clean the floor mats with our Interior cleaner and a good bristle brush, then rinse and dry.

Is there any special care that is needed for the sponge applicator that comes with the product? Does it need to be washed, etc after use? If so, how? Thank you for a great product.

Yes, you can wash the applicator like any of our other pads/microfibers by hand. we recommend you use a mild detergent and warm water. After you have completed washing and rinsing the pads, let them air dry.

Ok, after reading you response to Matt C, I am still not sure which product.  I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler with the big plastic front bumper and rear bumper and side steps that is fading.  Which product would be best for longevity and even lasting look?

I would definitely recommend using Black Shine Trim Restorer for your specific situation. It will be more user friendly to apply and spread evenly to large surface areas like your bumpers. It also has exceptional durability and will last for months. For best results, thoroughly clean the plastic surfaces using our Rubber Prep with a micro fiber towel or Ergo Wave Foam Scrubber and dry prior to Trim Restorer application.

Can one use Bumper and Trim Reconditioner (the black dye) before using Black Shine Trim Restorer (a clear shine) to both deepen the black and then add shine on top?  If so, what is the time needed between the layers?

Black Shine Trim Restorer may be used over the top of Bumper and Trim Reconditioner however, the Trim Restorer may not fully penetrate the surface when going over Bumper and Trim Reconditioner on some materials. Recommend allowing 24-48 hours between layers.
